Like so many modern love stories, ours began online. Jeremy’s profile immediately caught my eye—not just because of his smile, but because of the adorable pictures of his cats. I figured anyone who loves cats that much has to be a good person! We matched at the start of the pandemic, when life felt uncertain and everyone was figuring out new ways to connect. After chatting for a while, we decided to meet in person in January 2021—on what felt like the coldest day ever! Since indoor plans weren’t really an option then, we bundled up and went for a hike. I brought hot cocoa for us to share (in separate cups, of course—COVID rules!). Despite the freezing weather, that day was full of warmth, laughter, and the start of something truly special.
