Wed But Not Celebrated

Celebrate our wedding party on nearly our 6th anniversary

A few of you may be scratching your heads as to why we are celebrating our marriage after already having the same last name, well I'll tell you... In 2014 we had to make the decision to get hitched to due an upcoming permanent change of station from Germany to Fayetteville, NC. Since Kerstin was a German citizen and resident at the time, our only option to remain together was to get legally married quickly and celebrate later. Our good friends Jackie and Isaac from Alaska were living in California at the time and Jackie had just finished her online ministry certificate, and since California was one of only a few states that allowed same sex marriages and the Army was giving free gay leave, we got on the next flight! The beach marriage was super cute - planned and executed by Jackie and Isaacs kid's. Everything worked out well except for the fact that we failed to notify Kerstin's parents of the arrangement prior to the event, and since they aren't Army, they didn't understand and lots of tears were shed in the aftermath. The Behle's loss of a daughter to an Army soldier by marriage and then only to be separated by the Atlantic ocean wasn't easily assuaged by the fact that one day we would have a wedding celebration and make up for it. Please help us make this a happy occasion for all that were disappointed that they weren't on Laguna Beach with us in October 2014.

How We Met

The internet played cupid

Nadine and Kerstin met on an online dating app in 2013 while Nadine was deployed to Afghanistan with the Army. Having six months of deployment to go, they were able to check off all the important things in a relationship before meeting. Kerstin picked up Nadine from her redeployment ceremony where they met for the first time. Kerstin drove Nadine home to Mannheim from Miesau Army Depot and the rest is history!
