Hartman Rocks Recreation Area
Hiking and Mountain Biking tails. Very beautiful and unique rock formations.
Lake Irwin
Beautiful lake nestled in the middle of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. About an hour drive from Gunnison taking Ohio Creek Pass over to Kepler Pass. We take our focus on these roads. Also, accessible from the town of Crested Butte, which is about a 20 minute drive.
Blue Mesa Reservoir
Colorado's largest reservoir. Beautiful on a sunny and not so windy day. Perfect spot to sit back and relax. But there's better spots. There are several camping options around the Mesa as well.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
Very deep canyon with sheer cliff walls.
Hike or Rent a bike for one of the many trails surrounding Gunnison and Crested Butte
For information on the local trails check out the All Trails website. There are several places to rent bikes of all styles. Crested Butte provides the views you can pick how extreme or non extreme you want to be. There's a very flat path heading out towards Peanut Lake and out to a bench along the river with fantastic mountain views. Electric bikes are fun too!
