Evan and Nadine’s love story began when they were both working as EMTs doing interfacility transport. Evan offered to drive on every call, which instantly won Nadine over. Meanwhile, he was swept off his feet by the tactical fanny pack she wore. He thought this was cute and felt she was prepared for anything. Their first unofficial date was at the hospital cafeteria where they both ordered an egg salad sandwich, and quickly realized their favorite mayonnaise-based lunch was just one of their many similarities. On their second date, Evan met Nadine’s flaky, wheelchair-bound dog, Rocky, and auditioned for his future role of carrying him up and down the stairs 4-6 times a day for potty breaks. By the third date, they tackled a 4-hour road trip and vacation together and nobody turned up dead or missing. By this point, they knew it was meant to be. Evan fell for the girl wearing a fanny pack filled with multi-tools and chapstick, and Nadine knew she found the only person who would ever let her smelly hound dog sleep on the bed. The rest, as they say, was history.
Now, five years later, Nadine and Evan are both working as paramedics, have an extensive magnet collection from their travels, and share their home with a new dog, Maya.
