Meet Kayla, Kayla, originally from Dayton, Ohio, met Mabinty during their junior year at the Illustrious, Morgan State University. They served together as resident assistants, and from that shared experience, a lasting sisterhood was born. To make their bond even more special, Kayla and Mabinty share the same exact birthday. Since 2017, they have supported each other’s growth and transformation, deepening their connection over the years. Mabinty cherishes the sisterhood they’ve built and is excited about what the future holds.

The two crossed paths as Resident Assistants and quickly formed a bond that blossomed into true sisterhood. From day one, Mabinty embraced De’Jah like a little sister—mentoring her, helping with graduation photoshoots, and offering the kind of support and guidance De’Jah had always dreamed of. Through countless moments and meaningful conversations, Mabinty became more than a friend, she became family, teaching De’Jah invaluable life lessons and showing her the true meaning of sisterhood.
