How We Met

First comes online, then comes tacos and margs

How we met is a little different than normal, usually couples meet from a friend, school, at a bar etc. Josh and I met online, Tinder. Hehe! We both were looking for someone special, someone that wanted to settle down. Not the way Tinder is seen as. So we both ran into each others profile, both having our dogs as our first photo. Well that was a for sure win. So we started talking online, we realized we liked the same hobbies, volleyball, baseball, hockey (even though I was still new to the sport), video games, and soccer. Had great relationships with our family, loved the outdoors, and most importantly our dogs, Mo and Shadow. After about a month we finally set a day to meet. At first I was really nervous and was about to cancel our date, but I knew he was driving 30 minutes out of his way to come meet me for the first time. So I went, and I am so glad I didn't cancel. When I walked into Mission Taco at the Delmar Loop, I saw him sitting waiting, looking so handsome in his dark red crew neck. Of course the first date can be awkward, but we hit it off, talking about our family, friends, school and our dogs! Once we were finished, we decided to keep hanging out. So, we walked around town talking and looking at all the things around us. I took him to this wonderful ice cream shop and had the ice cream that you can roll up and they decorate yummy stuff together. It was a goodbye at the end of the night, but of course not our last!

The Hill

September 7th, 2021, we planned a picnic at our favorite spot; Art Hill watching the sunset and just enjoying the evening together. That day I was at work, all dressed up and it was a pretty good day. Usually Josh and I don't get dressed up for our picnic but this day I felt confident in my outfit and didn't want to change. However; that changed quickly. I realized Art Hill had flags all over the hill for 9/11, I was a little disappointed because we couldn't sit at our spot. I got home, and I kind of gave up on the night. I was exhausted and wanted to be get back into my comfy close and rest for the night. Josh begged me to still go and we could still find a lovely spot. My mind was still set on staying home. Eventually, I said "lets just get out of the house, I don't care what we do. Lets just go." I was very stubborn. Oops. As we drove, Josh took me to the store, we got flowers and a lavender heated dog, yes it's odd but it helped my mood. I really wanted to find a lavender candle, but the Wood Wick kind where it sparks. So we decided to go to target to find some, but before then Josh asked me if we could go to the park and just walk around. Of course I said yes, and it was actually a beautiful evening. The flags for all the people for 9/11 were so touching. I took a few pictures as we walked, the sunset was hitting the sky just right! We got closer to the fountain and got to see the whole hill with all the flags. We stood there in peacefully. Josh then started to act weird, saying I love you lots of times. I then wanted to go to the store and get candles but Josh wasn't ready. Then he quickly said "lets go". Next thing I knew it, he was on one knee nervous as ever and asked me to marry him. I blacked out and wasn't sure what just happen and it then hit me and I was jumping up in joy ready to marry my best friend.
