Let’s Go Back to 2005

Started from the prom now we here.

It all started when McKenzie was at a friend’s house in Groveland when she was 13. A boy from the house next door came over to say hi. He was a year younger but still fun to hang out with. McKenzie and Josh shared mutual friends through out middle and high school and quickly became friends themselves. It wasn’t until McKenzie was away at nursing school and Josh was in his final months of high school until it all began. Josh ended up bringing McKenzie to his senior prom. From there they got closer as the summer went on , hanging out multiple times a week and texting everyday. On one of their final nights together before McKenzie moved back to Maine, Josh decided to finally make it official.

The Proposal

It's about damn time!

There were MULTIPLE times during their 6 year relationship that McKenzie thought Josh was about to finally pop the question. It was labor day weekend and McKenzie's parents were going to have a small gathering that day at their lake house. McKenzie was in an awful mood! She felt like nothing was going right , and on top of that Josh told her his parents would be late because they decided to take a last minute trip to Freeport ME. Josh decided to take McKenzie on the boat to get her mind off things with her two dogs Hendricks and Emmie. Once they got to the middle of the lake Josh stopped the boat to hang with the dogs. McKenzie started taking pictures of the dogs and eventually Josh suggested taking a pic together. As McKenzie hit the button to take the picture a shimmering object caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. IT WAS A RING!! All McKenzie heard was “Will you marry me?” before she grabbed the ring out of the box and threw it on her finger. They then proceeded to return to the house where upon arrival were greeted by their families. The evening was full of laughter, crying, pictures, margaritas, phone calls and time with family. It was perfection.
