Linden Park Trail
A nice nature walk near downtown Birmingham, MI. Connect the Linden Trail with the Quarton Lake Loop for a 3.6 mi journey.
Motown Museum
Take a tour and appreciate Detroit's great music history. It will be a great primer for our reception filled with music by The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye...the list goes on!
Eastern Market
Attending the Eastern Market's Saturday Market is an experience that is undeniably Detroit. Over 225 market vendors share their produce and stories with up to 40,000 visitors in one day during our busy season.
Belle Isle
Belle Isle Park, a 985-acre island park located in the Detroit River near downtown Detroit, provides spectacular views of Detroit to the North and Canada to the south. It’s home to the James Scott Memorial Fountain, the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the Belle Isle Aquarium, and the Ralph Wilson Gateway (which serves as the official southern trailhead for Michigan’s Iron Belle Trail). Visitors can also swim at the designated swim beach, ride bicycles, fish, paddle and more. Why not make it a Detroit day with a picnic on Belle Isle supplied by your goodies from the Eastern Market??
Detroit Institute of Arts
The DIA connects people to art with programs, resources, and a diverse collection—among the top six in the nation with over 65,000 works. You'll be sure to recognize the famed Detroit Industry Murals by Diego Rivera. A true sight to see!
Detroit Zoo
Exquisite polar bear and penguin exhibit. If you're lucky you might get to see the polar bears show off their swimming skills with a little backstroke and flip turns.
Paint Creek Trail parking - Tienken Rd.
Another one of our favorite spots for a run / walk / ride. There is a chance you'll run into Terry and Jerry on the PCT getting their training run in.
Stony Creek Metropark
Be on the lookout for Jerry ripping on his mountain bike. Don't forget to pack a bathing suit!
