On a chilly San Francisco winter's day, Marshall and Myrna met at a mutual friend's birthday brunch. The day before the brunch, Myrna and Rachael were going through the guest list and Rachael commented that she had a friend coming that was just her type. In full matchmaking mode, Rachael showed Myrna Marshall's Facebook where they flipped through pictures and solidified that he was single. The day of the brunch, the stars aligned. Myrna and Marshall ended up sitting next to each other once Rachael left her seat to mingle with her guests. They hit it off instantly and chatted about work, San Francisco living, and of course food! Marshall asked Myrna what her favorite sushi restaurant in San Francisco was and, with that, asked her out on a sushi date. Brunch lead to a whole day of getting to know each other and concluded with a kiss, a phone number exchange, and a spark that has continued to shine bright through their exciting adventures together.
Marshall coordinated a hike to Lands End with their mutual friend, Rachael, without Myrna knowing. Rachael, acting as the secret liaison, texted Myrna the night prior asking her to go on a hike with her and intentionally told her to ask Marshall if he wanted to join them. The day of the proposal, Myrna and Marshall started off their Saturday as usual. Breakfast, gym, and then headed out to seize the day, in this case, to meet Rachael for a hike and catch some rays as the day happened to be sunny with not a cloud in the sky! Midway through the hike, they stopped to take in the breathtaking view of the Golden Gate bridge where Myrna ironically commented how perfect the location would be for engagement photos. This was Rachael's cue and she quickly told Marshall and Myrna to get in for a picture. Just as Myrna was situating herself in the frame of the photo, Marshall got on one knee and popped the question!
