You always think of online dating, especially online dating apps, as a place to hookup with someone or to find a relationship that will only last a second. You don't expect to find the love of your life... But we did! I (Myranda) had been on numerous dates with people from those apps, and legitimately almost deleted the app because I was done with finding no one. I'm a little pissed because I was the first (and only) person he dated on the app, but whatevs. But right before I was going to delete the app, I got a notification that someone messaged me. I decided to see who it was and what they wanted. So I swiped through the people until I found who messaged me, and it was Christian. What was his message? He challenged me to Guitar Hero (which I DESTROYED him at). I felt like he and I would get along, at least for a little while. So we talked for a while and set up our first date. Our first date, which we have celebrated on the same day and same places ever since, was on December 18, 2019. We went to my favorite restaurant, Ramen Haus, and walked around the Ogden Christmas Village. We actually didn't want the date to end, so we ended up extending the date by going to Weber State's duck pond to see the ducks and geese and talk more. He was awkward in that he put his arm around me the whole time instead of holding my hand, but I was also awkward by not asking him to hold my hand out of fear that he wouldn't like me! That night was the best first date I have been on. We then went on a second date, then a third, then a fourth, until I lost track. We have been with each other ever since, and I couldn't ask for a better partner in this life. He is the definition of a perfect partner, and I love him more than anything (besides the dogs, of course).
