Myranda and Josh first met in the summer of 2005 after Josh moved from Florida to Rockport. A chance poolside introduction (courtesy of Josh’s aunt) led to a fast friendship and an immediate crush. Myranda was headed into freshman year, Josh into sophomore year, and they stayed connected through school hallways and endless AOL Instant Messenger chats. After one year, Josh moved to Goliad, and they didn’t see each other again for nearly two decades. They kept in touch through social media, until last year when Myranda spotted a very tall man walk into the room and instantly knew IT WAS JOSHUA. After 19 years apart, they talked all night, as if no time had passed. When he dropped her off at the end of the night, Josh stunned her with one bold declaration: “I’m going to marry you, Myranda Piña.” Talking turned into dating, and in December 2025, during a Christmas trip to Colorado, Josh made good on his promise. On December 26th, at Lily Lake just outside Estes Park, he surprised Myranda with not just a proposal but a proposal with the most beautiful ring that had belonged to his late mother, Debrah. Nineteen years later, their story came full circle and this time, forever.
