We owe us meeting to Londonderry High's summer workout program (thanks Michelle!). Tianna was practicing outside of the gym for field hockey with a teammate and Ryan came up to her with his friend, Kelly, and they asked to take their field hockey sticks to play with. Tianna thought Ryan was really cute but didn't talk much to him at the time. Later that day, Tianna got a text from Ryan after he asked our mutual friend for her number. From that day, we became best friends and then on February 1st, 2011, we finally made it official.

For anyone who knows Tianna, you know she is a planner. Ryan knew he was going to have to pull out all of the stops to really surprise Tianna for their engagement. He had been planning since November and even had the ring in our apartment for two months before the actual day! Ryan decided to play with Tianna's emotions and give fake hints that were so believable she had everyone at work and herself believing it was happening closer to April! On Friday, March 5th (Ryan's birthday), we had planned to go to Gloucester to eat at one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate Ryan's birthday. We drove up to the beach beforehand and the sunset was beautiful. We decided to take a walk on the beach. Tianna had asked to take a picture when we got to a spot where the sun was shining. After we took the selfie, Ryan said "Wouldn't this be the perfect time to propose?". Ryan has done things like this before to play a joke on Tianna, so she turned around to playfully hit his arm. As she turned around, Ryan was getting down on one knee and pulling out a ring box. Immediately, Tianna began to (ugly!!) cry and kept saying "Are you serious right now?!". The rest was a blur of pure happiness, shock, and a lot of tears.
