So what are we celebrating?

Josh & Christina are eloping in a private ceremony aboard - the celebration on 12/28/2024 is for you to join in on the party! At the reception, the newlyweds plan to have pictures/videos of their elopement for people to enjoy. Think of it as a classy kickback with food, dancing, games and joy!

What food/drink will be served at the reception?

Answer

As lovers of food, Josh and Chris want to make sure that their guests have some tasty treats! There will be gumbo as the main course with a few other surprises! Nothing with nuts served due to the groom's allergy. Drinks will be mixed punches, beers, seltzers, and champagne. You are welcome to bring a specific drink/bottle for your table if you would like!

How long is the reception?

Answer

The reception is scheduled for 7pm - 10pm: We ask that our guests arrive no later than 7:10pm so that the Bride & Groom can enter the reception on time. The venue will be open seating, so come in, grab a drink, and be ready to party! See your invite for the exact reception location or reach out to the Bride or Groom.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

A Louisiana winter can be unpredictable, typically colder in the evenings than during the afternoon. We ask that our guests dress in neutral, earthy tones (no bright colors) or join in with the color palette of our wedding for photos (cool/dark blues, browns, blacks and greens). The dress code is semi-formal - this means cocktail or floor length dresses, dressy separates, two-piece suits, dinner jackets and dress pants. No jeans or tennis shoes permitted. We kindly ask that you avoid colors traditionally reserved for the bride - whites, ivories, and creams.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

While we would love to have everyone celebrate with us, the reception hall can only hold a specific number of guests. Please make note of the number of seats reserved in your honor through the RSVP process as we will be unable to accommodate any additional plus-ones.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Josh and Chris love the kids but due to the adult nature of the wedding, we are limiting children to those in the wedding party. Grab a babysitter and come enjoy a date night on us!

What is there to do in NOLA?

Answer

New Orleans is a city of wonder with TONS to entertain you - if you are flying in for the wedding, feel free to check out fun tourist attractions on our "Things to Do" tab. There will be an after-party after the reception for those who want to "keep the good times going", so be prepared!

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

There will be ample space at the venue for parking for those who wish to drive themselves to the wedding. Guests are also welcome to Uber/Lyft to the wedding if they do not wish to drive. The venue is in New Orleans East which is about 10 minutes from Downtown NOLA & 20 minutes from the NOLA Airport. Remember to be responsible!

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

For our guests who want to be closer to the downtown area, there are TONS of places to stay in or near the French Quarter. Josh & Chris love to stay at Aloft New Orleans Downtown. For a black-owned location, try the NOPSI hotel! The couple suggests that for those who want to do more activities in the city, please book near Downtown and Uber/Lyft to the ceremony. For those who wish to stay near the NOLA Airport in Kenner, LA, there are several in the vicinity!

What is Confetti & how will it be used at the #MylesToRichardson wedding?

Answer

Confetti is a private social feed for shared experiences that captures memories with through prompts - think of it as a digital guest book that is able to capture photos, videos & voice notes instead of just writing! During the wedding week, you will be sent prompts through text messages that will ask you to upload footage (voice memos, pictures, videos) as we anticipate the big day. On the day of the reception, there will be more prompts that will help you get to know new people, snap great footage of the newlyweds, and ensure a good time on the dance floor! Everything that is posted will be made available on the private feed for all guests to enjoy. If you are bringing a plus one to the reception, feel free to share the Confetti link with them so they can upload footage as well. We want to see the joy from your point of view so make sure to capture the night!
