We're beyond blessed and humbled that God, through His grace, not only brought us into His family but that he would allow two imperfect people to enter into a covenant marriage. We are constantly reminded by the ways that He has blessed us and the people He has blessed us with. We are so excited to spend this day reflecting on His goodness and faithfulness in our lives.

An alarm goes off. Big day ahead. He was so restless last night that he barely slept. He jumps in the shower hoping the hot water will help calm his nerves. He’s reminding himself that he can’t forget to take the small box in the safe before he leaves. At 7AM, a car comes around and off they go, to the Gardens by the Bay. He looks at her and squeezes her hand. He’s already sweating. She’s groggy, and everything is fuzzy. She’s wondering when she’s going to get coffee and who wakes up this early on vacation. All she was told was that there were important reservations and she needed to meet him at 7AM. They get in a car and she dozes off for some extra minutes of sleep. She doesn’t even know where they’re headed but she feels him squeeze her hand and smiles. She can’t wait for food.

It’s already 80 degrees with high humidity as they step out of the car to one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. They’re running late so the further they enter the garden, the more frantic he gets once he realizes they’re lost. He keeps glancing at his phone, trying to figure where he’s supposed to meet his contact. She’s wondering what kind of breakfast food the restaurant serves. Little does she know that today has nothing to do with food. He finally finds the staircase that leads them to where they’re supposed to go. She’s starting to wake up and can smell the hundreds of flowers surrounding her. To the left of her, she notices a photographer and to the right, another. She starts getting suspicious, but when she looks off into the distance and sees the morning light against the flowers, her suspicions wane, because who wouldn’t want to photograph this? He leads her to the tallest supertree and she’s looking upwards, trying to locate the restaurant in the treetops and the coffee and food she so desperately craves. He stops suddenly, and she runs straight into him. He turns around with such speed that he catches her off guard and she starts looking around. To the right is yet another photographer but he isn’t taking pictures of any flowers; instead, he looks straight at them, smiles, and then nods.

The sticky and humid air stood still in that moment as he brought her over to an exact spot that was marked by a taped “X”. He reaches for her hand, drops to one knee, and pulls out a small box out of his pocket. He begins by telling her of his love for her, how unbelievably grateful he was that God had woven their stories together, and finally Myles asks, “Theresa Phan, will you spend the rest of your life with me?” She says yes, but then asks “Wait, there’s no food?”
