Some say that our fate is predetermined. Bri was roaming the countryside as a travel nurse before accepting a travel contract in Bismarck. She had a strong feeling that she may meet "the one" in Bismarck. Unbeknownst to Myles, a travel nurse named Bri would accept a contract in Bismarck. Everyone jokes about love at first sight, but I think for both of us that is truly what it was. Following our first date, we were both left with the feeling that we may have truly found "the one" that we were searching for. Several dates followed before Myles decided to ask Bri if she wanted to be his girlfriend. Both were very excited when it was a resounding "yes". Over the next year and a half we would spend time traveling back and forth between Bismarck and the ranch for work on the weekends. You'd be amazed how much you learn about a person spending 6 hours together in a car every weekend. It was on these drives that each of us really fell in love with each other and knew that we had found "the one". In the spring of 2025 both decided to make career jumps. Myles decided it was time to make ranching a full time career while Bri decided to switch to clinic nursing. While it was chaotic with moving a few times and a stressful calving season, the two made plans for a summer vacation in July. It was supposed to be a surprise that we were going to Glacier National Park, Myles accidentally let it slip a few weeks prior, but Bri was excited as that is her favorite place in Montana. In July the trip to Glacier was made. On the first morning we woke up very early to hike up to Hidden Lake high up in the mountains, Bri thought for sure that Myles would propose at the top on the nice scenic overview. Little did she know, Myles was just up for a long hike that morning. We drove down the mountain with her wondering if he was going to actually pop the question on this trip. That evening we settled into our hotel on the shore of Lake McDonald. The hotel was located right next to the cabin in Apgar Village where Bri had spent many summers with her grandparents on annual camping trips as a kid. On the shoreline of Lake McDonald in front of cabin #8 Myles decided to pop the question. Just like when Myles asked Bri to be his girlfriend the answer was a resounding "Yes".
