On October 5, 2019 at 12:22 AM, I received a very unexpected Facebook Message from a guy I remembered always having a slight crush on through Middle & High School. First reaction, obviously, was to message my BFF, and MOH, Ali with excitement - "MIKE PARADIS JUST MESSAGED ME!" From there, the conversation flowed effortlessly through the following week, right up until our first date, October 11, 2019. Maybe it was how adorable Mike nervously carried on one conversation after another, and after another, or that his baby blue eyes smiled at me all night long...... whatever it was, we both knew in that one night there was something special happening between us. For us, the last two years have flown by. Reflecting, it really does seem like just yesterday that message was sent. We've enjoyed every moment together, from our first few months of dating, meeting family and friends, buying a puppy, to new adventures. And now to being engaged, planning a wedding, buying land, and building a life together. We are truly happy. Even more excited for everyone to celebrate our family of five coming together as one.
It started with a friends weekend up at the cabin. From night one, our friends were putting the bug in my ears that "wouldn't this weekend be the best weekend for Mike to propose!?" Little did I know, he had the ring and planned to propose the entire time. After a day of riding the pontoon and swimming, we got back to the cabin and I immediately noticed something box like in his pocket. Not wanting to get my hopes up, I kept quiet. But was he oh-so acting weird, I couldn't help but wonder what the heck was in his pocket. There was a brief "perfect moment" of just us two sitting on the pier. I thought OK this is it..... but then it wasn't. The night passed and no proposal. The next morning, Mike decided it was a good idea to start mixing drinks at 9am. A few hours in and I had made my mind up that today was definitely NOT the day I was getting proposed to. Night came, and back came that box in his pocket. I was getting annoyed and antsy, so I followed him into the cabin, stuck my hand in his pocket and asked him "what the hell is this?" Out came a red Kessler box. He set it on the table, sat down on the chair (not on one knee) and said to me "well, here you go." And here we are today :)
