We Still Do!

Our story is a little unconventional, but it’s ours—and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Though we technically knew about each other our whole lives, thanks to our moms, Christy and Toya, growing up around eachother, we never really crossed paths until 2014. Cedric was home on Christmas leave from the Army, and when he saw a picture of me on his mom’s Facebook, he made a bet with her: he could win my heart before he had to leave and head back to Colorado. Well, he didn’t waste any time! His mom reached out to me, and soon enough, Cedric and I were texting. That very night, he showed up at my job blasting music in his car, smiling from ear to ear. We hit it off instantly and spent the rest of December hanging out. By the end of those two weeks, we were inseparable—and not long after, on February 18, 2015, we eloped!
