“Are you related to Zach Gilmore?” I (Meghan) reached out to Chris over Facebook messenger after my sister Mallory saw him at Blue Springs one day. She said he was cute and played soccer (even though it turns out he did not) so I looked him up on Facebook and thought, "why not!". The only clever convo starter I could think of that would ensure a response from a local was to ask about a relative. I met his cousin Zach at the Rivertown Community Church youth group meetings and recognized the last name. It worked! I eventually invited Chris to youth group and we met for the first time in Indian Springs at the youth pastor’s house that same summer. I was 16 and Chris was 17 at the time and we have been inseparable ever since! It is extra special to get married in the same neighborhood where we first met almost 14 years ago to the date! <3
