- John and I met running around the same friend circles at the University of Arkansas circa 2012. Both of us were dating other people on and off throughout college, but I always had a crush on him (look at his face, can you blame me?). In the spring semester of 2014, he asked me to dance at Sigma Phi Epsilon function, and there were definitely sparks. The next semester, he asked me on a date to a local Mexican restaurant, Mojitos. I would love to say it was magical and we have been together ever since, but our fling fizzled out and we both dated other people for 3.5 years or so. Our real love story begins April of 2017 when we ran into each other at a bar in Deep Ellum. This time, it was magical and we've been inseparable ever since. That summer, I fell head over heels in love and knew he was it for me. John is the absolute best person I know and I've been waiting for the day I could call him my husband for over two years now. I am so proud to be his and I cant wait to finally be Mrs. Madeline Myers. Thank you in advance to all of our closest friends and family who come out to Tulsa to celebrate the love we have found in one another. We can't wait to see each and every one of you!
- As you may have gathered from Maddie’s summary, 2014 just wasn’t in the cards for us. I’d always thought she was beautiful, but to be honest we DID NOT get along. So, when the relationship quickly fizzled out at the end of 2014, neither of us felt too broken-up about it. We moved on, dated other people, and (me more than her) did some MUCH needed growing up. Occasionally, I’d see her pictures online, or get reminded of a moment we spent together and couldn’t help but have regrets that nothing other than some dates ever materialized between the 2 of us. Little did I know what the universe had in store… Flash forward to Spring of 2017. I was single and living in Dallas (though “lonely” might be the more accurate term). Through some messaging back and forth she informed me she was no longer seeing anyone. I jumped at the opportunity and asked her out …which she just as quickly said no to. But she did give me some hope and said, “maybe we’ll run into each other this weekend!” Well guess what? We did. The stars aligned and that night we kissed on a rooftop overlooking the downtown skyline of Dallas. From that moment on we became inseparable, and it didn’t take long for me to realize that I couldn’t live my life without this incredible woman being a part of it. So just a short 2 years later, on a vacation to Lake Tahoe, I got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with me. This time there was no hesitation, no maybes, no “we’ll see what happens”. Just a “yes”, through streams of happy tears. Maddie is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I can’t believe in less than a year she’ll be my wife. It might be cliché, but I’ve found my forever, my eternal happiness, and can honestly say that sometimes dreams really do come true. So if you’re reading this, know it’s because you’re an important part of our world and we want to share our happiness with you. We can’t wait to spend the best day of our lives with you on October 3rd, 2020.
