A modern dating app (thanks, Hinge) connected us, and our shared values and fun loving personalities made us inseparable. Keeping things light and fun to start, Kelly and Sean first grabbed drinks in November 2023 at Now and Later on Tipperary Hill. Kelly’s first impression of Sean was that he was very kind and easy to talk to. Sean admired her comforting personality, how long she takes to finish a drink, and how much she values her family. Neither of them had many expectations for what was to come, but a night full of laughter and sharing stories was just the beginning of their own story. Sean and Kelly's mutual interest in one another quickly led to many fun dates, and a couple months later, Sean officially asked Kelly to be his girlfriend in the most romantic of places: his driveway. The next couple years were filled with more fun dates, travel, weddings, concerts, and lots of lacrosse. Sean has always appreciated and been a little surprised at how willingly Kelly travels to places like Potsdam, Oneonta, even Castleton Vermont, to watch him coach, and Kelly always assures him that it has never been about the game but about supporting your people. Since things continued to go well, Kelly asked Sean the big question, “Do you want to come to Cape May with my family and I?” Sean agreed even when hearing that about 30 people go, and he quickly became a fan of orange crushes and Karaoke night (he still has yet to get on stage). There was no turning back at this point. Falling in love, moving in together, KJ's approval, banter over being West Genesee/JD rivals, humor, unconditional love and growing together have shaped who they are as a couple today. In November 2025, Sean brought Kelly back to Skaneateles where they had one of their first dates and asked the (real) big question. Kelly joyfully said “Yes!”, with her sister and cousin secretly capturing the moment. A nice dinner at the Sherwood Inn and visiting family was the perfect way to end the night. They can't wait to celebrate with everyone in a town that is part of their story and are even more excited to do life together!
