Our story began at Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor, Washington. I was working there when he walked in, and time seemed to pause. His eyes drew me in, and it was love at first sight. Richard had spent the day exploring the coast and stopped in for dinner. I complimented his duck boots, sparking a conversation that felt like destiny. Even as his Reuben sandwich arrived, he didn't stop talking to me. Before he left, I gave him my number, and he texted me within 30 minutes. From that point on, our love story unfolded beautifully. It was a simple, yet magical beginning in a waterfront restaurant that changed our lives forever.
On a perfect Labor Day weekend, we embarked on our dream date to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Ellensburg Rodeo and Fair. Little did I know, this weekend would become even more special. The following day, we ventured into the serene beauty of Stampede Pass for a camping trip. We spent the afternoon searching for the perfect campsite. Once our little haven was established, I left to fetch some snacks, leaving Richard to work his magic. As I returned, oblivious to the surprise awaiting me, Richard had hidden the ring on a bush in front of us. He casually remarked on the beauty of the flowers, and I wholeheartedly agreed. Little did I know, the real beauty was yet to be revealed. Seeing that I hadn't noticed the glistening ring, he gently hinted at something sparkling in the bush. I curiously approached, and there, in all its glory, I found my beautiful ring. Overwhelmed with joy, I couldn't hold back tears as Richard knelt before me and asked the most important question of our lives. In that serene wilderness, with nature as our witness, he proposed, and I said yes, sealing our love story with the breathtaking beauty of that moment. It was a proposal as beautiful and genuine as our love, a memory we'll cherish forever.
