Hiller Dog Park & Hammond Trail

Did someone say dog park? The Hiller dog park is Porter's favorite! He also enjoys walks on the Hammond Trail. It extends for 5.5 miles, from Mad River to Clam beach, but Porter's legs can only take him so far. Vista point, river access, need we say more?

Our favorite local watering hole! Dogs are allowed, but only if they're 21+.

Fieldbrook Winery

Go for wine, brick oven pizza, or just for a peaceful walk around the pond. This is one of our favorite places to spend Sunday afternoons when the sun is shinning.

Trinidad Beach & Moonstone Crossing Winery

Take a walk up to Trinidad Head, a walk on the pier, or (if you want to get your heart rate going) take the stairs down the cliff side to Old Home Beach, aka Indian Beach. Reward yourself with a glass of wine at Moonstone Crossing winery; their cab is excellent and we love their Ambrosia rose as well. The Lighthouse Grill is a wonderful place to grab a bite--we love their savory mashed potato cones!

Clam Beach

Porter's favorite beach, hands down. Great place to play fetch and go on long romantic walks. Never turn your back to the ocean!

Ferndale

Ferndale is a super cute Victorian town surrounded by pastures. This is where happy California cows are really from. Enjoy the amazing Victorian architecture, check out the historic cemetery, and check out their adorable shops.

Finnish Country Sauna & Tubs / Cafe Mokka

Great little Finnish inspired coffee and hot tub spot. Cash only, we highly recommend the house hot chocolate and making reservations early for an relaxing evening.
