Fairplay and Somerset
Fair Play is tucked away in southern El Dorado County along its bountiful byways dotted with wineries, farms, and ranches. Here you’ll find the communities of Fair Play, Somerset, Mt Aukum, and Omo Ranch. During the Gold Rush, Fair Play was a prosperous little mining town with several stores and hotels. Today you’ll find families raising Alpacas and horses, growing Christmas trees, flowers, and fruits & vegetables, and managing vineyards. It’s home to more than 20 award-winning wineries and dozens farms and ranches. Wine This area of California is known for producing robust, full-bodied wines grown in the highest elevations. Placerville
Placerville is a charming California “gold rush” town named after the placer gold deposits found in its river beds and hills in the late 1840’s. Its treasured heritage is reflected in the historical, nineteenth-century architecture of its downtown. An important historic landmark that still remains on Main Street is the Bell Tower, which stands as a monument to the city’s volunteer firemen. Placerville is about 30 minutes away from The Ranch at Stoney Creek.

South Lake Tahoe is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes away from The Ranch at Stoney Creek! There are so many things to enjoy in South Lake Tahoe, including hiking, swimming, and a variety of entertainment and dining. This is a great place to go for the day, or spend a few days at the lake before or after the celebration!
