We met at a friend's house in March of 2014. Katie knew of Jordan because she was friends with his sister MacKenzie first. MacKenzie had previously joked that she found Katie a prom date, but she brushed it off because she did not know Jordan and was not interested in getting to know him either. Fast forward to March, Jordan came to Abbey's birthday party with his friend and they spent the evening hanging out with everyone. Katie thought Jordan was cute but then totally embarrassed herself and thought he would never be interested in her after that night. Jordan texted Katie a few days later and they talked and hung out until Jordan planned an elaborate prom proposal in April. Jordan created a fake pop quiz that was handed out during our AP Government class and of course Katie was freaking out about a pop quiz! To Katie's surprise the questions actually asked her favorite type of flowers, what color her prom dress was, and if she would go to Prom with Jordan Meyers. Obviously she said yes and on Prom night Jordan finally asked if Katie would be his girlfriend and the rest is history!
After over 5 years of dating, Jordan popped the question in September of 2019. It was Jordan's birthday and we were heading for a walk at Petrifying Springs Park. We invited MacKenzie to join us because, well, let's face it MacKenzie loves being our 3rd wheel! On the way to the park, Jordan gave Katie a journal that had entries from all throughout our relationship as a birthday gift for Katie because we decided to celebrate our birthdays together since Katie was traveling on her birthday. Katie flipped through the journal and said "It would have been cool if the last page was a proposal!" and they laughed about it and kept driving to the park. At the park, Jordan and Katie sat on some steps for a photo opportunity because Katie wanted a cute picture to share for Jordan's birthday and we always make our sisters be our photographers for us (thanks Kenzie & Emily for all the years of photo sessions!). We took a few pictures and then all of a sudden Jordan pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Katie..it was the proposal page! Katie was shocked and looked up to see Jordan holding the ring and when he asked her if she would marry him she said, "uhh, I guess!?" After several minutes of asking if it was for real she finally realized it was real and that she never actually said yes, so she said "Yes!". Jordan wanted to propose on his 23rd birthday because his dad proposed to his mom on his 23rd birthday too, so it was an extra special day!
