Vanessa & Manuel's story began in Davis, back in 2017. It was both of their last years at UC Davis and they just so happened to become Community Assistants for the Transfer Student Housing program. They quickly became friends and were soon hanging out almost every day/night, along with some additional friends. One night Manuel invited Vanessa to go grab ice cream at CREAM to get away from everyone else - this was his way of planting the seed. Fast forward a couple of weeks and the "talking" stage began. On their first official date, Manuel drove Vanessa to Woodland while playing "Make you Mine" by Eric Bellinger. He introduced her to pupusas, as well as bingsu, which are now some of her absolute favorite things to eat. They were able to enjoy their whole last year of college and graduation together. They got their first apartment together in Vallejo in July 2018, after graduating from college. After a year they moved into an apartment in Concord, where they got their first dog, Rex, in September 2019, and their second dog, Luna, in April 2020. This is where they also survived a global pandemic and were together 24/7. They are now living in Sacramento with their two dogs. On their 5-year anniversary, Manuel finally popped the question on a snowy pier in South Lake Tahoe, and Vanessa said yes! They cannot wait for this exciting new chapter in their lives to begin!
