Groomswoman
Julie is Jason's sister and the two share a very special relationship filled with love, bickering, and comraderie. Back in high school, Julie and her friends named their special place Gumbalice and Jason's girlfriend at the time got the lovely title of the Wicked Witch of Gumbalice. Julie is not only delighted that Jason has found someone that he truly loves (and will watch all the movies that Julie never wanted to i.e. Star Wars, Terminator), but welcomes Sarah with the titles of friend, sister, and babysitter (of Sarah's soon to be niece and nephew).
Bridesmaid
Erin is Sarah's longest friend, since they first became next door neighbors at the ages of 5 and 6 in Lawrenceville, NJ. She might be better known to some of you as the mother of one of the two most adorable flower girls to have ever walked down an aisle, Eleonore. And she gets the prize for traveling the farthest--all the way from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Groomsman
Steve is Jason's brother-in-law who is also a great friend despite his love of Chicago sports teams. The first night Julie brought Steve home for a family dinner, Steve proceeded to eat everything Ellen (Jason's mom) had prepared (a small feast as if there are no leftovers then Ellen feels there was not enough food). Jason politely sitting at the table for so long got hungry again and went for round two due to solidarity and boredom. Another evening together at a bar, Steve and Jason were in deep conversation. Jason had to use the restroom and left Steve with the mic drop of "Nicholas Cage is the smartest man alive!"
Bridesman
Brian is a man of many talents and many titles. He could just as easily be described as head bartender and wedding dancer extraordinaire, but the most important description to Sarah is brother and best friend.
Groomsman
Rashid and Jason met through a mutual friend. The mutual friend got very drunk that night and threatened violence, but Rashid said he had my back. After that night Rashid and Jason became fast friends and roommates. Rashid also has come on several family trips to Nantucket and a Super Bowl in New Orleans. He has earned various names throughout his Shulman family tenure including Krasheed, Rashidowitz, and the Big Guy.
Bridesman
Jonathan and Sarah have been kindred spirits since the very first day of law school, then roommates and friends, and now, well, he's stuck with her. He helped pick out the dress, he'll be out there on the dance floor all night, and he'll most definitely be judging the flowers and decor. Most importantly, Jonathan will be celebrating his own marriage later this year!
