Becca and Chris's story began in 2007, when Chris's neighbor and college-long friend Rachel Musser moved out of Davis to "join the adult world". Introducing her kid sister to Chris and his roommate (and future groomsman) Quinn, Rachel declared: "My little sister Becca is taking over my apartment, so watch after her. If anything bad happens, I'm holding you two idiots accountable." Chris immediately proceeded to sneak underaged Becca into bars. After a year of shenanigans, Chris (finally) graduated and left for the Mojave desert, and a few years later, Becca for London. Their paths would eventually cross again in 2012 when Chris helped Becca move to San Francisco, where Chris had been gallivanting about for years. The friends' adventures immediately resumed, backpacking the California coast, skiing weekends in Tahoe, and long strolls in Golden Gate Park. The dating gods, fickle creatures of curious timing, eventually saw fit to align the stars in 2016. Chris abdicated his bachelordom with what some would call alarming eagerness; learning to cook, watching terrible movies with animated pets, and building Rebecca whatever wooden offerings he could to make his intentions clear. They moved to Bernal Heights, traveled Europe, built a boat, launched an art show, shared lots of laughs, and even more wine. In November '18, Chris proposed at Ocean Beach as Rachel, Tom, Haneen and Allegra watched creepily from the nearby rocky outcropping. Now all they need to do is get a dog.
