The Mayoon is a Pakistani pre-wedding custom. It is the first event of the wedding week. It symbolizes the purification of the bride by showering her in turmeric. The Mehndi (henna) ceremony is the second Pakistani pre wedding custom event. The ceremony involves applying red-orange henna paste to the brides palms/back of hands/feet. The Nikkah is a Muslim wedding ceremony that legally marries the couple under Islamic law. The barat is the arrival of the groom side to the venue. It is a fun-loving moment between both sides as they welcome the groom. Ruksati marks the end of the wedding when the bride leaves with the groom and guests gather to farewell the couple.
