It all started way back in high school (early 2009). We both knew of each other through the (Pinot Grigio) grapevine, but never crossed paths. We were both invited to a house party, but neither of us knew the other was going to be there. We had eyes for each other and exchanged phone numbers and went our separate ways. The awkward texting began the next day and a first date was planned- a movie and lunch at Chipotle (of course). In less than a month, we began dating and fell in love. One year later- the breakup happened. Adam was going off to college at Oberlin and Alex was starting her senior year of high school. We decided to let life happen, but keep in touch.
Alex had just returned home on Mother's Day of 2016 after a year of living in Australia. Her family threw her a welcome home party and invited Adam. He stopped by and we talked for a while and he realized that he felt the same and still felt an amazing connection with Alex. We began awkwardly texting again and finally met for drinks at a local bar. Things began getting serious, and by November 7th we became a couple again. We quickly realized that our love for each other matured, was real, and grew infinitely from our high school days. We were able to pick up right where we left off 7 years ago. We talked about getting away to escape the Winter so Adam surprised Alex with a trip to St. Petersburg, Florida in December, where he proposed December 17th, 2016 (40 days after we began dating) on the beach and Alex said "yes." We couldn't wait to get home to see our family and friends and begin planning our big day.
