We ask that those attending are vaccinated and have a negative lateral-flow test prior to attending the wedding. If you or someone you have been in close contact with within 10 days of the wedding show symptoms of COVID-19 we ask that you do not attend. Please follow the guidelines and wear a mask when you are not seated. There will be vulnerable and shielded groups in attendance.
As much as we would love to have the whole family together to celebrate, the ceremony and reception will be adults only. We hope you can relax and enjoy yourselves for the night!
If your invite states +guest we welcome you to invite a plus one to join you.
The dress code for the wedding ceremony and reception is formal. We welcome you to wear Tartan, a suit or a tuxedo, formal dresses or gowns.
The weather in Scotland can be fairly windy, please bear in mind that this is a winter wedding so guests may want to bring something warm to wear. Winter in Scotland can be unpredictable but usually windy, cold, and damp.
We sincerely ask that guests keep the ceremony device-free, we'd like to give our photographer the room to move around and capture the best shots. You are welcome to share photos from the reception.
Here are some key points to note: The venue has a toilet located on the main level just off of the billiards room. There is a short walk through the stone paved garden to the ceremony hall. There is ample seating in the parlour and the reception room. There are stairs to go downstairs to access the wine cellar and karaoke room.
There will not be transportation to and from the venue, however the venue is easily accessible from nearby Hawick.
There are ample car rental agencies at the airport, we suggest Avis on East London Street or Enterprise at Waverley Station if you do not wish to rent from the airport. Hawick and the Scottish Borders are accessible by car or bus: the X95 Borders Buses has services running at least every two hours to Hawick from Edinburgh. If you are not driving and do not want to take the bus, the train from Waverley Station leads to Tweedbank which is nearby Hawick but not a direct service, you will then need a taxi to Hawick.
There is a small parking lot at the venue.
