We first connected through work, but it wasn’t until we spent time together at a couple of back-to-back events that our paths really started to cross in a meaningful way. What started as shared laughs and long event days quickly turned into a sweet friendship, one that kept growing until it became something more. Our coworkers encouraged us to get to know each other, and looking back, we can clearly see God’s hand in all of it. That summer, something felt different. We kept in touch, and after months of conversations and anticipation, we had our first date in September while we were both in Nashville for another work event. Since Karen was in town for a few days, that one date turned into a long weekend of laughter, walks, and moments we didn’t want to end. Our relationship has been long-distance ever since, Karen in Pittsburgh, Alex in Nashville, but it’s only made us more intentional and grateful for every moment we share. From dates in different cities, to quiet evenings cooking and catching up, we’ve built something deep, joyful, and something we’re incredibly grateful for. On May 7th, Alex flew to Pittsburgh and surprised Karen in her front yard with the sweetest proposal, surrounded by family. It was sweet, thoughtful, and exactly the kind of moment that felt like God’s faithfulness on display. We’re so thankful for the story God is writing in our lives, and we can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of forever with the people we love most!
