Remember the dismal dread of the looming holiday season of 2020? No one knew what to do, there were so many rules and just as many ambiguous suggestions. This was a confusing time of solitude and isolation. Sara Bonnick thought to herself hmmm, this is the perfect time to play match maker. Let's back it up. In the summer of 2016, Jen met Sara at the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston where they became co-workers in museum education. Jen and Sara quickly became friends, both short and often freezing, they had a lot to discuss. As their friendship grew deeper they became more and more in tune with one another and their artistic practices. Two creatives who continued to find one another in their career trajectories, ended up in graduate school at the same place at the same time. They thankfully had their friendship to support them through three years of hell. Sara, privy to some of the most intimate parts of Jen in a friendship decided that after all these years, the fall of 2020 was the ideal time to set her up with Justin, her twin brother. Sara facilitated a walk between Jen and Justin and they have quite literally been together ever since. Justin and Jen wore masks for the entirety of their 5 hour walk until the very end when Justin slipped his off and asked Jen if he could kiss her. Unfortunately, Jen awkwardly said no and blamed it on the global pandemic. Luckily, this was after they had already made plans to hangout again the next day where they never ended up parting ways and the rest, really is history. ~ In 2023, the day after Justin purposed (and Jen said yes right away this time), they were all gathered at the Murphy household on Mason's Island and Jen overheard Grammie ask Sara, "so, how did you know these two would be right for one another" and Sara replied, "well, I knew that if I introduced them in 2016 they wouldn't work out, and I knew in 2018 it still wasn't the right time. I waited until this version of each of them that I knew would hit it off immediately". "Or" Sara said with a smile, "they wouldn't get along at all". In conclusion, thanks Sara!
