The wedding of

Joe and Murphy met in 2015 when he would come over for haircuts by her roommate, Hanna. They always thought the other was cute and charming, but the timing was never right. Joe claims he would come over just to be able to look at Murphy if she was home, and Murphy loved to sneak peeks at him getting his haircut in the apartment kitchen. Eventually, Murphy moved to Norfolk and Joe moved back to NOVA, but they would run into each other at shows and parties over the years. The timing still wasn’t quite right then either, but there was always something there. Finally, in 2021, Murphy bravely messaged Joe on Instagram and expressed her interest and told him how attractive she thought he always was. This led them to converse for a few months over texts since Joe lived in Richmond, and Murphy lived in Yorktown. They had their first date in January of 2022 at the Hampton Colesium for a two day Excision music festival, and everything felt so perfect and right. Murphy knew this was going to be something special and would visit Joe up in Richmond frequently before ultimately moving there herself to pursue her degree at VCU and work at one of the many hospitals. She even purposefully moved into his neighborhood so they could be walking distance of one another. Joe became Papa Bear to Murphy’s pup, Yoshi, and the three of them were inseparable. Through the trials and tribulations, successes, failures, tears, whether happy or sad, one thing remained consistent: love. They now live together with their two pups, Yoshi and Rhiannon in Richmond; the city they fell in love in, the city they continue to learn and grow in, the city that they are thankful for bringing them together in the first place.
