Tim and Angela became an item in February 2020, and as we all know the rest of that year was smooth sailing! They met the old-fashioned way, on the Hinge dating app. She liked that he was cute, a fellow JMU Duke, and well... that he's tall. He liked that she was pretty, a fellow JMU Duke, and that she has a sharp wit she's not afraid to share. They went on what was supposed to be a short dinner date, but that turned into nearly closing the joint down when it became clear they made each other laugh. Angela was early, Tim was miraculously not late. It felt special right away! Later, they were both surprised (to put it mildly) to learn that their fathers had served in the same training unit in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1980s, before either Tim or Angela were born. The first half of 2020 was a hell of a time to begin a relationship, but it' s a good sign that Tim and Angela started off resilient and have stayed that way to this day. The location of one of their best early dates, The Majestic in Alexandria, later became the place of their engagement in February 2023. Tim had prepped the waitstaff of The Majestic that he was going to propose that night, and a waiter nearly spilled the beans in his excitement. Early in the evening the waiter came by, slapped Tim on the shoulder and said "Congratulations!" as he walked by, before the proposal had actually taken place! Coincidentally it was The Majestic's 90th birthday so Tim hastily said that was the reason for the unusual exuberance. Angela was still able to be surprised when the ring came out, and she said yes! Tim and Angela are both so excited to celebrate their love with all of you, so see you on the dance floor!
