It all started at Jack Astor’s in Pickering, where we found ourselves side-by-side watching the Maple Leafs in the playoffs. Then came the curveball: almost right after meeting, Stefan casually mentioned, “I’m leaving in two weeks to go to Calgary for the rest of the summer, then I go to France for the rest of the year”. Two weeks might not seem like much, but Stefan made every day count. Dinners, ice cream dates, running errands, and going to the gym together made it impossible for Murielle not to fall for him. When he left, our story shifted into long-distance mode. We became pros at airport hellos, tearful goodbyes, and endless FaceTime calls. Fast forward to a magical night at the Ritz-Carlton in Toronto. Stefan was so nervous he even texted Murielle’s best friend, “Which knee do I kneel on?” . But the second he asked, the answer was a very obvious yes. Since then, we’ve collected stamps in our passports and memories in our hearts. From France to Portugal, Monaco to Nice, the Dominican Republic, Calgary, Miami, and London. And now, after years of love, laughter, and long-distance, we’re ready for our next adventure: marriage.
