Sierra and Matthew met in 2017 at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania where they both attended college. They grew close while singing with the school group The Genevans, and began dating on 10.17.2017

For months, Matthew coordinated with Sierra's family to orchestrate a proposal that was entirely a surprise for Sierra. She was under the impression that she would not see Matthew for a month, when he was really coming into town secretly to pop the question! With the help of Sierra's sister Cheyenne and brother Logan, a beautiful alleyway in downtown Annapolis, Maryland was decorated to set the perfect scene. Matthew wrote Sierra a letter and let her know that he was picking her up for a surprise lunch date. Little did she know, he walked her right into a stunning scene right under the Maryland state capitol building. And, needless to say, she said, "Yes!" The proposal was followed immediately by a compilation video that Matthew had pieced together of some of their close friends and family wishing them congratulations and a lunch at a unique Tea Room. It was surely a day that neither Sierra nor Matthew will forget!
