We met at a luau-themed party our junior year of college - a mixer between our sorority and fraternity. Knowing a little bit about Matt, Nicole used a basketball-themed pick up line and suddenly the sparks were flying! Shortly after it was summer break and Matt was back in Arizona. Our romance still kindled while we were eagerly waiting for the school year to start and we could spend more time together. At Matt's home in Phoenix, Nicole was lovingly referred to as HBO girl for providing Matt her HBO log in so that he could catch up on Game of Thrones. In November of 2014, we officially started dating and celebrated the moment with a date to buffalo wild wings.
Around our 6th anniversary, Matt said we were going to an outdoor brunch with his friends, and that since we were bringing the dogs to brunch we should take them on a walk first. We went to one of our favorite place to take the dogs, a trail in Boulder behind Nicole's apartment she lived in during her first year of grad school. That was the year we were long distance. During that year, when Matt came to visit we would spend lots of time with the dogs on this trail. On November 2, 2019, on that trail in Boulder, Matt popped the question! We celebrated by having brunch together and hosting one of our well-known Halloween parties. It was one of the best days ever :)
We decided to have our wedding in wine country after moving to Sacramento about a year ago. Since our friends and family are spread throughout the US, we did not have one location in mind when we started wedding planning. During our time in Sacramento, we've ventured up to wine country a couple of times. We thought it would be fun to show all of our family and friends the beauty of the Napa area and treat you all to some of the finest wines!
