Lodging + Travel Details

The Wedding Website of Margaret Bond and Michael Underwood
Please read below for important information regarding lodging and travel details (aka, how to ride a ferry). FYI, the Lodges at our wedding venue are all booked up for the weekend, so if you haven't heard from us directly about a Lodge for you (and your family), please ensure that you reserve an air bnb or off-island accommodation as soon as possible

House Or Rental

Airbnb

Vashon Island itself doesn't have any "hotels" and the best option for staying on the island is getting an Air BnB! We recommend you reserve a spot early to make sure you get a good spot for the weekend. Additionally, you can decide to reserve a hotel room off-island in West Seattle, or Tacoma. Important Note - you must drive onto the island to get to the venue. There are not shuttles or easy transportation on island from the ferry.

Travel Note

How to ride a ferry

To get to Vashon Island, you have to take a ferry. We recognize some people may not have taken one before! It's pretty simple when you get the hang of it: show up EARLY (summer, weekend ferries are packed, and often delayed by 1 or 2 ferry times. We recommend you come early and grab a coffee or pastry just to make sure you're on time), get in line behind the other cars that are already there, and pay at the pay station. Tell them you're coming to Vashon and they'll give you a Purple "V" sheet to put on your dash. From there, the Ferry employees will help guide you into the correct lane, and when it's time to load the ferry, they will direct you where to drive.
