Things To Do

Boston

Boston, MA

There's no shortage of things to do and see in Boston. Here are some of our favorites: • Bleacher Bar: a bar located under the outfield at Fenway, grab a beer and look out into the field! • Al Dente Ristorante: One of about a thousand fantastic Italian restaurants in the North End. Go-to date night spot for us. • Harpoon Brewery: Once upon a time had the GOAT of baked pretzels, but unfortunately the recipe has changed. Beer is still good though. • Ned Devine's: no explanation required. • Beehive Restaurant: Bar/restaurant in the South End with eclectic live music daily • Duck Boat Tour: land and harbor tour of the city in an amphibious vehicle. (note to all our non-New Englander guests - these are what our sports teams ride during our numerous championship parades) • New England Aquarium: it's a pretty sweet aquarium • Museum of Fine Art: it's a pretty sweet museum

Portland

Portland, ME

• Rí Rá: Irish pub on the water to get a proper pint of Guinness • The Thirsty Pig: Local beer on tap, serving house-made sausages and hot dogs • Three Dollar Deweys: Low key pub with free popcorn and a rich history • Bonfire Country Bar: ...Country themed bar • Maps: Vibey underground bar with vinyl on the walls and maps on the ceilings • Too many breweries to list, both in the city and surrounding area. You can't really miss. • Eventide Oyster Co: Iconic raw bar • Lenora: Tacos & Margs • The Holy Donut: (World?) famous potato-based donuts • There's also a plethora of shops to pop into while walking around the Old Port

Biddeford/Saco

Biddeford, ME

• Rover Bagels: Wood-fired bagels that will change your life. Take-out only. (order early for the best selection - they frequently sell out) • Elements: Cute coffee shop/bookstore, also serving beer and wine. • Palace Diner: Iconic diner in a train car with the biggest chicken sandwich you’ll ever eat. Expect a wait, there’s only 12 seats and cash only. • Pacifico: Pan-Latin restaurant by the river. FANTASTIC • Sacred Profane: Unique, tankpub style brewery, they brew only light and dark lager. You can also turn it into a shandy if you wish. • Banded Brewing Company: Popular local brewery in the old mill building. • Lucky Pigeon Brewing Co: Maine's first gluten-free brewery, also located in the old mill building.

Biddeford Pool

Biddeford Pool, ME

Yearly vacation destination of the Hergott clan, for almost 40 years. Not much will be open at this point in the season (not that there's much to be open anyway), but a scenic drive along Mile Stretch Road and around Ocean Ave would not disappoint. If you go to Fortune's Rocks Beach at low tide, you can go crabbing in the tidal pools like Michael and all of the Hergott cousins grew up doing! 🦀

Kennebunkport

Kennebunkport, ME

Quaint coastal town with plenty of local shops, art galleries, coffee shops, and restaurants. If you're looking to kill a few hours, you could do a lot worse. Recommending a scenic drive along Kennebunkport's Ocean Ave as well (just watch out for bikers). • Mabel’s Lobster Claw: Seafood restaurant outside Kennebunkport that happens to share a name with our Mabel Jeanne :) • Pedro's Mexican Restaurant: Phenomenal burritos. • The Tides Beach Club: Boutique hotel bar, great place for a cocktail or dinner on the coast. Located on Goose Rocks Beach between Kennebunkport and Biddeford Pool. (they make a mean espresso martini)
