Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Short or longer formal dresses. Suits or dress shirts with dress pants and a tie. Neutral color scheme preferred. No jeans or sneakers please. Examples of neutral colors: black, grey, tan, navy blue, light blue, olive green, sage green, blush pink, light peach, mauve, dusty rose. No white please.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Please arrive by 4:30pm. Downtown Grand Rapids can sometimes be busy and parking may not be available right next to the venue. It will also be the opening weekend for ArtPrize so expect downtown to be extra busy. We want everyone to have adequate time to find their seat prior to the ceremony starting.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is no reserved parking for the wedding. Street parking is free on the weekends. The two parking structures next to The Rutledge are the Cherry Commerce ramp and the Studio Park(ing) ramp.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to budget and space limitations, we simply can’t afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Therefore, we are asking our guests to please not bring a plus one, unless they are specifically named on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only affair.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We are reserving a block of rooms at Canopy by Hilton, but feel free to stay at any of the wonderful hotels downtown. The booking code for Canopy is MSWD and will get you a discounted price on your room. The last day to use the code is August 14th. Also of note, ArtPrize will be happening in downtown Grand Rapids during this time, so we recommend reserving your hotel room as soon as possible.

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

There is no provided transportation. Luckily, Canopy by Hilton is just across the street from the venue and many other hotels downtown are within easy walking distance of The Rutledge.
