Things To Do

Biltmore

Biltmore

1 Lodge St, Asheville, NC 28803

The Biltmore is a bit on the pricey side, but if it fits within your budget, it is well worth it. It is a massive historic estate with stunning gardens that are especially beautiful in spring. I recommend booking at least a few weeks in advance to secure the time slot you want. Please see their website for accessibility information: https://www.biltmore.com/faq/is-biltmore-accessible-for-guests-with-limited-mobility/

North Carolina Arboretum

North Carolina Arboretum

20 Frederick Law Olmsted Way, Asheville, NC 28806

"The North Carolina Arboretum offers acres of cultivated gardens and miles of trails featuring some of the most beautiful, botanically-diverse plants in the region." The arboretum is a mostly outdoor experience! See their website for accessibility information: https://www.ncarboretum.org/plan-a-visit/accessibility/

Omni Grove Park Inn

Omni Grove Park Inn

290 Macon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804

The Omni Grove Park Inn Country Club doubles as a luxury hotel. What we like to do is reserve an outdoor table at one of their many restaurants and enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountains. We ate at their Edison restaurant and requested outdoor seating - 10/10 views and really good food! I've also heard great things about their Sunset Terrace restaurant! Please note that parking is a little pricey (I think about $20 - $30 nowadays) so plan accordingly!

Asheville Pinball Museum / Level 256 Classic Arcade Bar

Asheville Pinball Museum / Level 256 Classic Arcade Bar

The Asheville Pinball Museum: 40 pinball machines and 40 classic video games. It is $17 for unlimited plays of all machines! OR Level 256 Classic Arcade Bar: If you want to drink and play some retro (and modern) games, this one's for you! $10 for all-day play, with a fully stocked bar! Please note they are 21+ except for Saturday from 12pm-5pm.

Blue Ridge Parkway Hiking/Overlooks

Blue Ridge Parkway Hiking/Overlooks

Keep in mind that the Blue Ridge Parkway is an experience in itself—filled with breathtaking overlooks—so even if hiking isn’t your thing, I highly recommend driving towards one of these trailheads just for the views! If hiking is your thing, here are my recommendations! 1. Craggy Pinnacle: Easy 1.2-mile round-trip scenic hike. Approx. 37 minutes from the hotel. 2. Craggy Gardens Trail: Moderate-Strenuous 8-mile round-trip hike next to the Craggy Pinnacle trail (37 min from hotel). This trail is still closed from Hurricane Helene as of right now, but they may have it open by May! 3. Catawba Falls Trail: Moderate 2.1-mile hike (30 minutes from the hotel, also near Craggy Trails). They recently added (580) stairs to make the hike more accessible if you are not as stable on your feet! Gorgeous waterfall, don't let the stairs discourage you :)
