Chris and Nicole took a trip to San Diego, California to present their chemistry research (nerds). San Diego has a special place in their hearts as the first place they travelled together. Chris decided to purchase the engagement ring from San Diego over a year later from a local jeweler. He proposed on March 14, 2017 in Rochester, New York. He had some amazing plans for an outdoor proposal, but of couse there was a massive snow storm. The entire city shut down, closing all roads. Chris improvised, he decorated the entire apartment with pictures of Nicole and Chris. When Nicole finally made it home from working at the veterinary hospital, Chris surprised her with dinner and a PROPOSAL! She obviously said yes.

Chris and Nicole met during their undergraduate studies at Elmira College during their chemistry courses. They began studying for classes together and spending a lot of time together. Chris and Nicole have made quite a few moves in the last few years. After graduating from Elmira College in New York. After a year of living in Rochester, NY, they moved to Michigan so that Nicole could begin veterinary school at Michigan State University. They purchased their first home in April 2018. As luck would have it, Nicole was relieved Chris was also such a big animal lover. Prior to graduating from Elmira, Nicole met a dog through the SPCA she was working for and fell in love! Chris met her, and knew this pup was meant for them! Teegan was adopted in April 2016. A year later, while working at a cat veterinary hospital, Nicole met a 17 year old cat who needed a new home. Hayley lived with them for one great year being completely spoiled! Another cat came into the cat hospital as a stray, who was very, very pregnant. Nicole bonded with her, Momma Cat, and was their to help during her birth of 7 kittens. Chris was determined to keep the two black kittens Momma gave birth to and they named them Mr. Tuxedo and Buddha. When Nicole and Chris went to bring them home from the cat hospital, Lynx climbed up into their laps and asked to go with them. Well, that's how they ended up with 4 cats. The last addition to the furry family is Kinslee. While walking in a park with Teegan, a puppy came out of a bushy area. After calling shelters to see if anyone lost their pet, Nicole and Chris decided to keep the puppy. Now its a happy house of 6 fur babies! Nicole will graduate as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2021 and Chris is working as a business banker at a local credit union in Lansing, Michigan. After Nicole graduates, Chris and Nicole plan on moving back to the East Coast.
