We met at Kanza Hall on a stormy, summer Friday night. Eric was out with his friends and I t with mine. I spotted him first playing pool, thinking he was rather good looking I suggested to my friends we go play as well. Even though, I barely knew how to play. As I made a bee line for Eric’s table, another group of guys stopped us and invited us to play. Having not discussed my plan, my friends accepted these ugo’s offer and we began a game with them. Luckily, Eric saw me and used his ESP to see that I wasn’t playing pool with who I intended. He came up to me asking if I’d play with him the next game. I don’t even think I bothered to finish my game. I just began playing with Eric. Despite being a horrible pool player, I hit the 8 ball in and we won our game! Eric, an avid pool player, must of been impressed because he ask me out on our first date which we had a week later.

This was a crazy day... Eric and I were closing on our first house and it was the Friday before Kansas City went under lockdown, because of the Covid-19 pandemic. We invited our parents and siblings over to see the place. As we were showing them around Eric led me to the back patio. He got down on his knee and proposed with our families around us. Eric made a big speech before he ask the question, but don’t ask me what he said, as soon as I realized what was happening, my world went silent and I was crying happy tears.
