Dear Friends and Family, We wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news with you all. After much thought, we've decided to elope to Scotland! While our love for you all is boundless, we felt this was the perfect way for us to begin our new chapter together, just the two of us, in a place we've always dreamed of visiting. Though we're skipping the traditional ceremony, we absolutely plan on celebrating our wedding with you once we return. We'll be hosting an adult-only celebration where we can all come together to toast this new journey. We can't wait to share stories from our adventure and celebrate our love with the people who mean the most to us. With love, Chris and Sarah
After working at GM for some time with Chris's mom, Pam, she finally had enough of hearing about my dating disasters. One day, she confidently told me that her son and I would be a perfect match. She painted a vivid picture of Chris, talking about his love for animals and his competitive nature from playing soccer his entire life. Before I knew it, she had passed my phone number along to him. A few texts later, Chris invited me to a Tigers game later that week. I hadn't even seen a photo of him yet, so when he showed up on my doorstep for our first date, I was incredibly nervous. But there he was—tall, handsome, and ready for a fun night out. We had an amazing time at the game, and from that point on, things clicked between us. We took our time getting to know each other, officially becoming a couple a few months later on the 4th of July. Not long after, Chris persuaded me to adopt my first cat, Willow. That kicked off a chain reaction, leading to the unexpected adoption of a second cat, Murphy, to join our little family along with Chris’s sweet dog, Riley. Soon, we began fostering kittens, puppies, and dogs, filling our home with love, chaos, and joy. Throughout the pandemic, our fostering continued, and we ended up adopting our very own "pandemic puppy," Penny. A few years later, we decided it was time for a much-needed getaway to Northern Michigan. We revisited some of our favorite spots, while also exploring new places together. One of those discoveries was the charming town of Charlevoix, where we spent an unforgettable evening shopping, dining, and sipping drinks along the canal. As the day came to a close, we took a sunset walk to the Lighthouse. With the sky painted in gold and purple hues, Chris suddenly got down on one knee and proposed! It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. Now, eight years, four pets, a global pandemic, two career changes, a few home renovations, and countless happy memories later, we're ready to say "I do."
