FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

You should RSVP by 7/31/2024, so we can finalize arrangements and ensure we have a spot reserved for you.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend arriving approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. This will allow you ample time to find parking, settle in, and ensure you don't miss any important moments. We're looking forward to celebrating with you.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While the ceremony is open to all, we kindly request that the reception be an adults-only affair. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Certainly! The Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is a great option for a hotel in Hilo. If you're looking for something more personalized or unique, Airbnb also offers a variety of accommodations to suit your preferences. Feel free to explore these options listed on our travel page.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! We take food allergies seriously and are more than happy to accommodate special dietary requests. Please let us know about your food allergy when making your reservation or RSVP, and we'll ensure that appropriate arrangements are made for you. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

While the ceremony and reception venues are a few miles between the hotels, a vehicle will be needed. If you prefer not to drive, Uber/Lyft rideshare is a convenient option for transportation.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Certainly! For the ceremony, guests can park in the lot located directly across the street from the venue. Please note that space is limited, so we kindly ask that you arrive early and consider carpooling. For the reception, ample parking will be available to accommodate all guests. Whether you're attending the ceremony or the reception, rest assured that parking arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

For our ceremony, we're asking that folks wear their best Hawaiian attire to embrace the spirit of the occasion. For the reception, we're aiming for a slightly dressier semi-formal attire to add an extra touch of elegance to the festivities. Please feel free to dress comfortably yet elegantly for this fabulous gay event. Get ready to dance the night away and celebrate in style!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

As we're strictly keeping our guest list to those we've invited to help manage costs, we kindly ask that attendees refrain from bringing additional guests unless previously discussed. We hope you understand, and we're looking forward to celebrating with you!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, the Alzheimer's Walk will be taking place in the morning at Lili'uokalani Gardens in Hilo, which is close to the hotels. Just a heads-up in case you plan to attend or if it affects your travel arrangements. Kona Pride Festival will be held at Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel, Kailua-Kona. There will be events related to Kona Pride Festival happening all weekend.
