In November of 2023, at a Fall Festival at St. Louis Catholic Church, Anita and Anthony were introduced for the first time by family members who thought they would enjoy meeting each other due to their common interests. Anita found Anthony to be a tall, handsome deaf gentleman who was able to communicate verbally and read lips. Anthony found Anita to have the sweetest eyes he had ever seen. A few days later, Anthony nervously decided to text Anita and their beautiful friendship began. Their first date was a dinner at Walk-Ons sports bar. They communicated in their very own, unique way and it felt like God was blessing them with a new direction that they needed to continue to travel. As their friendship grew, they both traveled many miles to see each other and their love for one another grew as well. As time passed, they both continued to grow in love and faith. Later that year, Anthony surprised Anita by taking her to a Luke Bryan concert in Tampa for her birthday where they found a song that connected them even more, “Love you, Miss you, Mean it”. Before Anthony proposed to Anita, he asked permission of Anita’s daughter, Luann, Anita's father, Claude, her mother, Maria and finally her brother, Mike. On September 14, 2025, in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee, Anthony proposed to Anita. Anita was completely surprised by the proposal but immediately said YES!
