The summer of 2016 was when Katie & Mike first met. After the first date, at an outdoor Italian festival with chicken parm and live music, they both knew this was something really special. Katie was living in the Cherry Hill area as a Kindergarten Teacher and Mike had just moved to Philly and was in law school. They had the best summer together. They would always go out together in Philly and spent many weekends at Katie's beach house in LBI. After a few months of dating, on July 30th while on a date in Philly, Mike told Katie that he loved her. Every year after that, on July 30th, they would always celebrate their relationship with a special date or trip. Their favorite was their trip to Cabo San Lucas. Although, postponing the wedding was an emotional and difficult decision for Katie & Mike, next summer on July 30, 2021 not only can they can celebrate 5 amazing years together, but they will say "I love you" and "I do" and become husband and wife!

Katie and Mike were at Long Beach Island for Labor Day weekend. They went to a concert on the beach that they loved to go to on Sundays. The band started playing "My Girl" and Mike asked Katie to dance. Mike got down on one knee and asked Katie to marry him! The beach went wild and everyone was cheering for the newly engaged couple. As a memento, the drummer gave Katie and Mike his drumsticks. Katie's family had champagne ready to toast the engagement! It was a perfect beach proposal.
