Maya and Elyse met in 2008 when Maya and her family joined New Hartford First United Methodist church. They then swam together and attended church events until Maya graduated in 2016. Elyse and Maya have been inseparable since they met. Maya and Elyse were very fortunate to have spent their undergraduate experiences within one hour of another. Elyse considers herself very lucky to have a best friend like Maya.
Rhyse Nier

Jon and Rhyse met in the Greece United Methodist Church Youth Group in 2010 and have remained best friends ever since! Jon and Rhyse have since traveled to Nicaragua together and Jon went to visit Rhyse when he lived in L.A. in 2020. Jon and Rhyse enjoy a good dive bar and you can always find them with a Labatt in hand. Rhyse is the older brother of Ellegra in Elyse's bridesmaids.

Brianna and Elyse met in Kindergarten during vacation bible school at New Hartford First United Methodist church and reconnected when her family joined the church later as members. Elyse and Brianna both graduated high school in 2017 from New Hartford and have remained life long friends!
Sarah Muder

Sarah is Elyse's older sister! Sarah and Elyse have grown much closer as they have aged and rely on each other for support quite often. Elyse and Sarah have grown up together and share many wonderful memories with their family.
Ellegra Nier

Elyse and Ellie met when they both joined the Conference Council on Youth Ministries in 2014. After joining the same committee Elyse and Ellie became very close. Ellie and Elyse have always been long distance friends but have such a special bond as friends unlike any other. Ellie is the younger sister of Rhyse who is Jon's Best Man.

Jon and Charlie met in Kindergarten and participated in the same Cub Scout Pack. Charlie's Mom, Kristine, babysat Jon and his siblings when they were growing up. Charlie and Jon spent a large amount of time together in high school during their free time. Charlie is one of six of Jon's very close high school friends.
Eva Bobeck

Eva and Elyse met in 2018 when Eva joined Blackhorse Rugby at SUNY Fredonia with Elyse. Growing very close, Elyse chose Eva to be her 2nd rugby rookie. Eva's hometown is Grand Island, New York where Elyse and Jon resided 2020-2021. Elyse and Eva have a very special friendship and have many cherished memories.
Tyler Rist

Tyler and Jon became close friends in the 7th grade. Tyler and Jon were their high school robotics club together. Tyler is the league commissioner in Elyse and Jon's fantasy football league. Tyler and Elyse also share a love of the Pittsburgh Steelers! Tyler is one of six of Jon's very close high school friends.

Maria and Elyse met in 2012 when Elyse joined the Clinton Cuda's Swim Club. Maria and Elyse quickly formed a friendship and were constantly together on the pool deck. With many trips to Sherrill and New Hartford Elyse and Maria formed a very special friendship that many admire.

Josh and Jon met in swim class at age 5. Jon and Josh were in the same Kindergarten class and enjoyed their summers at camp together in Spencerport, NY. Josh is one of six of Jon's very close high school friends.

Hanna and Elyse met in 2017 when Elyse joined Blackhorse Rugby at SUNY Fredonia. Elyse and Hanna served on the rugby e-board together and become very close! Elyse and Hanna are always laughing and having a blast whenever they are together. With many double dates and girls nights Hanna and Elyse are life long friends!

Katie and Elyse met when Katie joined Blackhorse rugby at SUNY Fredonia in 2018. Katie and Elyse spent their time getting to know each other during rugby and working at the Fredonia Starbucks together. Katie was Elyse's first rugby rookie and has given Elyse some of her most memorable experiences at Fredonia. Katie and Elyse have so much love for one another and are friends for life!
JJ Johnson

Jon and JJ met in the 4th grade! They have a friendship long rivalry being Michigan and Ohio state fans. JJ is one of six of Jon's very close high school friends.
Ted Anderson

Ted has known Jon and Elyse for many years. He was an adult leader on the Conference Council on Youth Ministries. Ted and his wife Mary have resided in Spencerport, NY for many years and are experienced card players. Elyse, Jon, Ted, and Mary often get together for food and games when the happy couple is in New York. Ted is an elder in the United Methodist Church and has retired from being a full time pastor.
