We were matched through eHarmony and started messaging/talking on May 15, 2019. Laura skeptically but hopefully joined eHarmony April 28, 2019 and thanks to Neil Clark Warren (older gentleman who used to be on the eHarmony commercials😉) was swept off her feet by Steven within 3 weeks of joining. Due to scheduling conflicts we continued to talk and text until our first date at Bodega in the Short North on June 6, 2019. We both knew after that night we had found someone special and have been having adventures together ever since ❤️

Very quickly they both knew they had found the perfect partner for life. However, when it came to planning the proposal, Steven worried that finding the right ring and right moment might be a bit more challenging. Steven headed to a jewelry store with only the vague hint of “I would want my ring to be vintage-y.” After looking at several dozen rings and saying a variety of prayers, he settled on one. All that was left was to find the right moment. Since Laura’s favorite city is New York City, he decided to wait until they went there for vacation. Smuggling the ring through the airport and onto the cruise ship, he nervously gripped the box, worried that some government agent would ask to examine it in front of her. Finally as they cruised past New York City at sunset out on their balcony at the start of a Caribbean adventure, he turned to her and said, “This is nice but I don’t think it’s perfect.” Laura’s mind was racing about what could be wrong. When she turned to look over at Steven, he was down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Laura quickly responded, “Of course! Yes!” and then they had a perfect trip as an engaged couple💕
