Back in 2002 at LaGuardia High of Music & Art and Performing Arts, we walked the same hallways and watched the same school performances; completely unaware that one day we would become each other’s person. We were two students from Queens traveling to Manhattan living separate lives, connected only by a shared school. Years later, fate decided to try again. One message on Hinge changed everything. What started as a simple match quickly turned into a first date on a Tuesday night in December 2018 at Queens Bully in Forest Hills. Somewhere between all the "getting to know you conversation" we discovered something unexpected: we went to high school at the same time. The right person had been there all along, just at the wrong time. Our first date confirmed what the app already hinted at. Conversation came easy, laughter came naturally, and it felt less like meeting someone new and more like finding someone they were always meant to know. From classmates who never met to soulmates who finally did, our story proves that timing really is everything. Sometimes love doesn’t happen when you first cross paths; sometimes it waits until you’re both ready to swipe right.
